there's a lot of world before me
i've been told it never ends
i could wander it forever
without looking back again

the mountains call me upward
to peaks that can't be found
there are twinkling stars to leap at
and the time to fall back down

the rivers and the streams bring life
and when that life is done
does it slip beneath the surface
like the setting of the sun

what more can i dare ask for
than all that nature gives
be she mother, maid or mistress
is there nothing more than this

look beyond this world
look beyond this life
look beyond yourself the the answer
He who made the eagle fly
can lift you from the ground
and in Him who filled the birds with song
is where true joy is found
